Thirty miles north of Boston and a few miles from the coast in Wenham, Massachusetts, is Kathy’s own home and design studio. Built in 1900 and acquired in 2019 as a picturesque “empty nest” house-on-a-hill, the four-bedroom American Foursquare has never been empty a day since Kathy and her family moved in.
Instead, the home has slowly become a creative cocoon as Kathy renovated and decorated one room after the next, layering on color, texture, pattern, and a collection of artful and personal objects from her life and travels. Each space is unique and engaging with pleasing proportions and comforting period details that inspire both long conversations and lively interactions. With a nod toward comfort and conviviality, the house now warmly hosts two dogs, a cat, and two young adult children and their partners for extended stays, a steady stream of visitors, and a thriving interior design business in an attached studio space.
