For more than twenty-five years, Kathy Marshall has been designing timeless homes throughout New England and beyond. Based on Boston's North Shore, Kathy Marshall Design is an award-winning luxury residential interior design and interior architecture studio specializing in historic home renovations, architecturally sensitive restorations, bespoke new construction, custom kitchens and baths, and thoughtfully layered interiors.

New England has always been Kathy's playground. Growing up on Boston's South Shore, she was surrounded by historic homes, weathered barns, horses, artists, musicians, and master craftsmen whose passion for their work left a lasting impression. From summers at her family's c. 1921 lake house in New Hampshire to winters skiing throughout Vermont and Maine, she developed a deep appreciation for the landscapes, architecture, and traditions that continue to inspire her work today.

Early in her career, Kathy spent time designing homes throughout the Desert Southwest, where she embraced the region's architecture, craftsmanship, art, and rich cultural heritage. While the landscape was dramatically different, it reinforced a philosophy that has guided her throughout her career: the most memorable homes are those that reflect their surroundings, respect their architecture, and tell the story of the people who live there.

Whether restoring a centuries-old Colonial, renovating a Shingle Style estate, transforming a coastal New England home, or designing a bespoke new residence, Kathy believes every project begins with listening—to the home, its history, its setting, and the families who will create their next chapter there. Every design is rooted in architecture, craftsmanship, proportion, and a genuine sense of place.

Recognized for her expertise in historic renovation, interior architecture, space planning, custom cabinetry, millwork, and bespoke kitchen design, Kathy appeared over a ten-year period on This Old House, America's most trusted home improvement television series. Collaborating with exceptional homeowners, architects, builders, craftsmen, and artisans further strengthened her belief that the finest homes are created through thoughtful collaboration, extraordinary craftsmanship, and respect for architectural integrity.

Today, Kathy Marshall Design offers comprehensive interior design, interior architecture, renovation consulting, architectural detailing, custom cabinetry and millwork, bespoke kitchens and baths, custom furnishings, procurement, and full-service project management. Working throughout Boston's North Shore, Greater Boston, coastal New England, across the United States, and internationally, the studio creates homes that are timeless, deeply personal, and beautifully crafted—homes that feel as though they have always belonged.
